How to host an event at our cheerful studio?

A unique, creative and very memorable way for you, your child, family and friends to celebrate any occasion. Work with professional artist potters and real hands on clay to produce ceramic birthday keepsakes.

Choose from an exciting range of fun projects and a variety of making techniques, including the potter’s wheel

Commission a commemorative, collaborative pottery item, presented to the birthday girl/boy unfired and ablaze with birthday candles. This will then be fired in the Pottery kilns along with the rest of the creations.

Length of session: 1 ½ hrs – 2hrs.

Clothes: Wear what ever you like that is not too fancy and doesn’t get in the way of your creative fun activity. We provide aprons!!

Food: Although we are unable to provide food, many of our customers like to bring a picnic or order in. This can be consumed in the studio (once the clay has been tidied away.) We allow ½ hr after the workshop session for picnics.

Finished work: The finished work will need to dry thoroughly before it can be fired. This takes between 1 – 2 weeks depending on drying conditions. We will contact you after this period to arrange a time for you to pick up or have it delivered.

Please Contact us with your preferred date, time and the following details:

  • Name & age.
  • Number of participants

Once we have checked availability, we require a 50% deposit paid as advance.

4) We will then email to confirm your booking.

*Cancellations: Provided you give us more than five working day’s notice before the event date we will refund your deposit less a 10% cancellation fee.

Pottery To Go:

If you prefer to have the pottery-painting activity at your home, office, school or community venue…we can come to you!  Clay Station can bring the creative art fun to your group in a mobile format suitable for any group.  Just make your plan….and we’ll come to you!

Teambuilding

Our workshops can be a fantastic teambuilding exercise exploring collaboration and communication amongst colleagues. Participants work together to produce a ceramic sculpture or wall panel. The artwork is taken away to be fired and glazed before being returned to the client. Once installed in the workplace the masterpiece serves as a permanent reminder of what can be achieved by effective teamwork.

Collaboration: The workshops involve participants working together towards a common goal – culminating in a finished artwork everybody has had a hand in making.

Shared ownership: The finished artwork and the collaborative manner in which it was produced will foster a sense of pride and shared ownership.

Individual contribution: The workshops are structured to nurture respect for each other’s ideas and work. New skills will be discovered and hidden talents revealed.

Communication: The collaborative nature of the workshop means that participants will be in constant dialogue with each other, interacting and exchanging ideas.

Resolving conflict: Problem solving, decision-making and competition will encourage participants to find different ways of working together. These methods will be transferable to the work arena.

Feedback: Participants are encouraged to present their ideas. This involves discussion, giving and managing criticism.

Reminder: Installation of the artwork in the workplace will serve as a permanent reminder of what can be achieved by effective teamwork.
